The Maia James Sarcoma Innovation Grant Winner
This $40,000 research award supports innovative studies focused on relapsed Ewing’s sarcoma, helping accelerate discoveries that improve outcomes for children and young adults.
The inaugural Maia James Sarcoma Innovation Grant was awarded to Dr. Pengda Liu of the University of North Carolina for his project, “Novel Antibody-Drug Conjugates to Treat Relapsed Ewing’s Sarcoma.” His research seeks to develop more precise, targeted therapies for relapsed Ewing’s sarcoma by identifying unique markers on cancer cells that could improve treatment effectiveness while reducing harm to healthy tissue – offering hope for children and young adults facing treatment-resistant disease.
